In 2016, Shandong Fuji Elevator Co., Ltd. launched a free installation program for its energy feedback system on projects requiring modernization due to aging electrical components such as wiring and control equipment. This system converts the potential energy generated during heavy-load downward travel and light-load upward travel into high-purity electrical energy, which can then be supplied to other electrical devices. By doing so, it not only relieves the burden on the power grid and maintains normal operating temperatures in the machine room, thereby extending the elevator’s service life, but also reduces energy consumption by more than 20%. Additionally, comfort upgrades are made to the variable-frequency drive (VFD) control system. Through this series of upgrades, the modernized elevators offer the advantages of safety, reliability, energy efficiency, and passenger comfort.

The modernization scope includes the following:
Changes to: rated speed, rated load capacity, car mass, and type of door locking device.
Changes or replacements to: the control system; guide rails or guide rail types; door types (including the addition of one or more landing doors or car doors), fire-resistant landing doors, glass doors, and glass car walls; rope terminations; the elevator drive machine or traction sheave; the governor; the buffer; the safety gear device; and the overspeed protection device for upward travel.
Integration of multiple previously standalone elevators into an intelligent group control system, which uniformly dispatches and coordinates elevator operations. This includes increasing the rated speed to achieve faster and more efficient elevator performance.
